Margin Trade Funding or MTF is a facility under which you may buy more stocks with less margin i.e., up to 3 times of your available margin. To illustrate, with a margin of Rupees 10 lakhs you may buy upto 30 lakhs worth of stocks and hold them as long you would like to.

To avail this facility, you may activate MTF and a) transfer funds to MTF collateral or b) pledge your existing stocks as MTF Collateral or c) by doing both a and b. Buy more stocks and hold them as long as you would like to hold. 

This has to be activated specifically by giving an online request or offline request. For Offline activation, just Create a Ticket. 

Online Activation

Just tap on Profile from your Trading Platform and enable MTF from Segment activation page. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete it. You can also click here and navigate to activate.

Joint account holders and NRO account holders who cannot activate MTF online, may raise a ticket with a request to enable MTF
