How to Get Started with NRIa Trading & Demat Account

Your Login credentials for the Trading Account should have been received by you from updates@navia.co.in  on your registered email ID.

Before you place your first trade it is important for you to understand the purpose for which you have opened the account and the type of account your have set up.  Based on the purpose and the type of account we have explained below the things you need to do to activate your account.

How to Get Started
NRO Trading and Demat Account
This is the most preferred account type, allowing you to buy and sell shares freely in NSE and BSE like a resident investor, without any NRI-specific restrictions. Simply fund your account and begin your investment journey in the Equity Segment. Learn how to fund your account  You can also avail our Funding Facility. Learn more
NRE Trading and Demat Account with RBI Approval
This account allows you to invest in the secondary market with repatriation benefits. 
  • Ensure that your PIS Bank Account has sufficient funds. Trading limits will be updated based on the balance in your PIS Bank Account. 
  • Your bank account will be debited for purchases made through your trading account.  
  • When you sell shares, the sale proceeds will be credited to your PIS Bank Account on T+1 working day.
NRE Trading and Demat Account without PIS Permission
This account is only for selling shares acquired through the Primary Market, Promoter Holding, or ESOP allotment.  
  • These shares will appear in the Holdings menu of your trading platform.
  • You can sell them when the prices reach your desired levels.  
  • This account cannot be used for fresh investments in the secondary market.
Foreign National Trading and Demat Account
This account is only for selling shares acquired through Promoter Holding or ESOP allotment. 
  • These shares will appear in the Holdings menu of your trading platform. 
  • You can sell them when the prices reach your desired levels.
  • This account cannot be used for fresh investments in the secondary market.
F&O Trading Account
This account is for trading in the Derivatives Market (F&O) on NSE & BSE.  Key Features:
  • It is a Tripartite arrangement where Navia is the Trading Member, Orbis is the Clearing Member, and you are the investor.
  • Payments and fund receipts happen in your Orbis account, while trades are executed through Navia’s Trading Platform. Learn how to fund your F&O Account
