Downloading & Understanding Contract Notes
How to Access Contract Notes?
The easiest and most preferred way is via the Navia WhatsApp Report Bot.
Steps:
- Open the Navia App.
- Tap Account (bottom right).
- Select Report Bot → You’ll be redirected to WhatsApp.
- Type “Contract Note” and follow the instructions to download.

2️⃣ What is a Contract Note?
A Contract Note is the statutory bill you receive every trading day when you place orders. It gives a full record of your transactions. Along with the Contract Note, you will also receive the Trade Summary in email.
Key Sections Explained
- Order No. / Order Time → Exchange order reference & time placed
- Trade No. / Trade Time → Unique trade reference & execution time
- Security / Contract → The stock or contract traded
- Buy / Sell → Type of transaction
- Quantity (ISIN) → Number of shares/lots traded
- Gross Rate / Trade Price → Execution price per unit
- Brokerage → Brokerage charged (if any)
- WAP → Weighted Average Price across exchanges after brokerage
- Net Rate → Price after deducting brokerage
- Closing Rate → Day’s closing price (for open derivative contracts)
- Gross Obligation (Before Levies) → Trade value before taxes/other charges
- Net Amount payable/Receivable → Net amount payable/receivable (final obligation) after all charges
3️⃣ Important Notes
- DP Charges & Call & Trade Charges → Not shown in the contract note. Check your Ledger Statement for these.
- Net Amount → If shown as negative, it means money is due from you and will be deducted from your trading account.
